Who we are
Background
I come from a Business background and always thought that it would be the ideal field to enter since my dad and brother both work in the business field. I entered Laurier’s BTM program last year which taught me a lot of skills such as marketing, product development, analyzing, etc. and I hope to apply these skills into UX. I hope that my knowledge in business can help me thrive in UX since both industries contain a strong focus on customer-client relationships. My best skill trait has been commitment and dedication and I have learned that throughout my hobbies in and out of school such as sports, working out, etc.
Why UX?
I chose UX Design since it is a very promising field that is still relatively new and Laurier’s UX program seems very appealing due to their co-op opportunities. UX also seems to have a lot of creativity and it inspires people to think outside the box and to create new things. Another reason that this program is special is because of the fact that it is still a relatively new field with new research being poured into, and it helps people think outside the box unlike those cookie cutter majors like computer science, engineering, etc.
